Physiology
Panthers are a clade of somewhat large, agile felines with formidable strength, claws, and teeth. They are deft climbers thanks to a set of retractable claws. They have keen noses and ears.
Overview
Masters of patience, panthers prefer to stalk and ambush their prey. They will brawl impressively when a confrontation is in their favour, but will generally yield to predators that frighten them (the cruschola roc, for example), and surprise attacks. They startle easily, have a good sense of what might injure them, and don't like to press too far in uncertain situations.
Plains panthers will often group up for hunts that target larger quarry, as opposed to the solitary hunting behaviours of most woodland cats. All panthers retain some degree of territorialism, typically reserved for strangers and rivals rather than relatives, and there are some cases where one hunting party is lambasted by another.
