A scrap about Ripple stealing some fish

Today wasn’t Ripple’s day.
He’d done all his usual rounds, keeping an eye out for trouble. He was certain he could sneak a few fish from the reserve pool without anyone noticing, and he’d slid into the water as quietly as he could. “Off limits” didn't mean shit to a lissa who’d gone two days without food. This was his chance.
Only, he’d forgotten he wasn't the sole outsider looking to snag a fin or two.
He was already underwater when a wall of mass and bubbles hit him like a boulder. A bright tail smacked him across the muzzle as its owner wheeled around to peer at him. She was slim for a lissa, dark of fur with flame red stripes lashed across her hind and tail. Her eyes shot open wide when she saw him. She stifled a grin. It was a look that undoubtedly meant it’s you again!
Ripple snorted bubbles her way with a glare. He was disoriented by her clumsy entrance. It was Dawn, here again to ruin his chances by barreling in last minute. The nerve…
He started towards her with half a mind to shove and scratch at her side. This was supposed to be his illicit fishing session.
However, try as he may, she was too quick to catch. Her saving grace had always been her speed.
